Drizzt and company's trek through the swamp was so exciting! Trolls, creepy tree monsters, a giant worm...the only way it could have been any more fun is if the Legion of Doom showed up as well!

I hate to be "that guy", but I've noticed a lot of people over the last few days saying they had completely inoffensive photos flagged as "offensive", some of which were featured on fairly old reviews. I can't help but notice that I never saw this happening until after Amazon took over GoodReads. Anyone else beginning to wonder if people at Amazon itself are doing the flagging?!?

Wait...Wulfgar just charged at a thunderstorm...did he really just try to kick lightning's ass?!? Wulfgar's not much of a "thinker", is he?

As much as I'm enjoying this book, it's getting really tiresome to see Catti-Brie constantly stuck in the "Damsel-in-distress" role! Mr. Salvatore, let's see a little less "Nell from Dudley Do-Right" and a little more of this lady, please...

Wait...the tribe of vicious battle-thirsty barbarians is called the "Sky Ponies"?!? Dudes...I'm not sure that name will actually cause your enemies to tremble in fear...

One of the cardinal rules of an R.A. Salvatore book...whenever Drizzt unsheathes one of his scimitars, something really cool is about to happen! :D

My first Drizzt book of 2013...preparing to be enthralled now! :D

Okay, I'm not usually big on the romance genre (y'know, with me being a dude and all), but even I have to admit that the love scenes in this book are pretty hot! (And, no, I'm not gonna make a joke about the fact that I came to this revelation when I was 69% into the book...some jokes are too easy, even for me!)

Something about <spoiler> doesn't make sense to me...did the author simply commit an oversight in regards to that character...or have I just figured out who the vampire-killer is?!?

The vampire's name is Disco...I can't believe a total wise-ass like Rhiannon hasn't made some kind of "Disco is dead" reference yet!

I recently used the term "old-school" in a review, and have since been told no one says that anymore. Saying "old-school" is old-school?!? How ironic!

Considering how good the story has been, I suppose I can forgive Weber for falling into the "villain admires the hero's skill" cliche...at least Weber didn't take it all the way and have the villain give Honor the "in another world, we may have been friends" speech!

I'd get a lot more reading done if I wasn't on GoodReads all the time! ;)

Still chuckling over how Honor's confrontation with Klaus Hauptman ended...at this point, if Honor wrestles a dragon to the ground and knocks it out with one punch, it still wouldn't make her any more bad-ass than she already is! :D

Hmmm...let's see...Honor is a tall, strong, dark-haired woman who can silence just about anyone with a single glare...this one is almost too easy to cast!

The only way Honor's plan to protect Basilisk Station can work is if there's no outside interference. Since books where plans go off without a hitch with no conflict whatsoever very rarely sell, I'm guessing things are about to go horribly wrong...

I've always been more of a doggy person than a cat person, but I must say, this book makes me want to get a treecat like the one Honor Harrington has!

I am stunned speechless! (But apparently only in spoken word, not written!) I thought there was going to be some kind of twist regarding that particular character, but I never expected THAT! Well done, Mr. Butcher

As much as I love the Harry Dresden books, it seems like there's always at least one moment that's so goofy and over-the-top, it pulls me right out of it...in this case, it was "Polka will never die"! :/

Apparently, female dark wizards get really angry if you refer to them as a "moppet"...

Butcher sure focused a lot on the T-Rex skeleton in the museum...please tell me that thing comes to life at some point in the book, that would make me so happy! :D
