Every time Rand and Mat meet someone and I'm sure the person won't be one of the Dark One's minions, the person always turns out to be one of the Dark One's minions. If the Dark One was after me, I would have been captured by page 2! Apparently I'm way too trusting...

I read a couple more chapters of this amazing novel last night. However, I probably won't have any time to read tonight, but it's for a good cause since I'll be seeing...STAR WARS!!! :D

Perrin raised the axe to throw it in the pool, but Elyas caught his wrist.
"Use the axe, boy, and as long as you hate using it, you will use it more wisely than most men. If ever you don't hate it any longer, then will be the time to throw the axe as far as you can and run the other way."

EGWENE - "She was giving me advice on being a woman."
PERRIN - "Advice! Nobody tells us how to be men. We just are!"
EGWENE - "That is probably why you make such a bad job of it!"

"Keeps the hood of his cloak pulled up so you can't see his face, but you can feel him looking at you, feel it like an icicle shoved into your spine. Nobody ever sees him coming, he's just there all of a sudden, freezing you where you stand."

Yeah, seeing that would freak me out too!

PERRIN - "But hope is like a piece of string when you're drowning; it just isn't enough to get you out by itself."

That's true, sometimes you need a little help from your friends...

Rand, Mat, and Perrin actually agree to follow some creepy dude named Mordeth into a dark dungeon. Guys, his name literally sounds like "More Death"! Seriously, between the three of you, none of you could see how this might go horribly wrong?!?

Love how Lan just charges into an enemy army! Lan never loses his cool...unlike certain cats I know!

Lan warns the boys not to draw any attention to themselves, especially from the Whitecloaks. Mat and Rand then proceed to start a confrontation with the Whitecloaks, drawing the attention of the town watch as well! Guys, I don't think you've got this whole "stealth" thing figured out...

Every time I'm on GoodReads, I'm reminded how lucky I am to have you all in my life. Thank you all so much for all the conversations, the kindness, and the laughs. Your friendship means the world to me! :)

Things I'm thankful for:
1. After a long and scary battle, my father is now cancer free!
2. I survived my bout of A-Fib and will soon be having the surgery done to get my heart to stop acting like a jerk!
3. All the kindness and support I received from all of you while coping with the events of 1 and 2!

I'm enjoying this book so much, I'm thinking of starting a Kickstarter campaign so I can afford to quit my job and read the "Wheel of Time" series full time! Think anyone would actually donate? Or would my Kickstarter just inspire them to give to this one instead...

Starting the Wheel of Time series with Branwen, one of my favorite people in this world or any world! Branwen, I love you more than all the books in existence put together (even the ones written by Brandon Sanderson)! So excited to be buddy-reading this with you!

Wait, so all this time, the archvillain's secret assassin was really...WHOA!!!
What a great twist, I was not expecting that at all!
(And speaking of great twists...)

He grinned, "Would you be interested in a cup of kahva tea? I like my kahva the way I like my women...hot!"
"I like my kahva the way I like my men," she replied. "Ground up into tiny pieces and stored into a bag!"

Sometimes a man should know when to just keep his mouth shut...

"Who dares summon me from the slumber of the dead?" rasped the figure in the sarcophagus.

"I bind you to the will of the gods!" Lightning flashed from Desidora's hand.

"Right," said the zombie, dusting himself off. "What do you need"?

Didn't expect zombies to be so...casual!

"Fighting like a knight is good if you've got a good sword and a good shield and a good horse. But in this world, the bad guys are better armed and better armored. If we fight fair, they win. Which is why we use every trick we know to stay alive!"

One of my favorite parts of this story is the growing relationship between Loch and the man trying to arrest her. The way Pyvic is conflicted by his emotions while Loch hides in plain sight and flirts with him, their game of cat and mouse is fascinating to watch! As most cat-and-mouse games are...

If other authors can retell their past novels from a different perspective, why not J.K. Rowling? ;)

Just a few minutes more, Loch thought, and they'd be there. Everything was going perfectly.

Since I'm only about a third of the way through the book, I'm guessing Loch's plan is about to go horribly wrong. Just a hunch...

I went into this book thinking it would mostly be a build-up to an amazing heist. Instead, I'm only up to chapter six, and there's already been TWO amazing heists, as well as a breathtaking prison escape and a magic-based con job!

I'm so excited this book is exceeding my expectations!
