People are constantly handing Werner broken equipment to fix and he's always so courteous about it. I wouldn't be nearly as gracious...

It's been a while since I've wanted to punch a book character as much as I do Bastian!

It is Frederick's turn to throw a bucketful of water at the prisoner. Frederick, who has not been cheering when each bucketful of water finds its mark. Who is frowning at the prisoner as though he recognizes something there.
And Werner knows what Frederick is going to do.
"I will not."

More screams and shouts sounded through Salidar.
"A bubble of evil." Nynaeve was startled at how cool she sounded. There was no point leaping about and flapping her arms, but inside she was doing just that.

Before this series, I never realized how terrifying bubbles could be! :o

Nynaeve muttered a curse she had heard from Elayne - the girl had a surprising stock of such tucked away.

I never pictured prim and proper Elayne swearing! I always thought she would be more inclined to say things like, "Oh, Fudge" and "Shut the front door!"

I'm ready to read more of this heartbreaking novel...now that I finally have enough tissues to get me through!

(Who am I kidding...these will only last me about two chapters!)

This book is so powerful, but also so sad and devastating at times, I may have to watch a marathon of Indiana Jones punching Nazis afterwards just to lift my spirits again!

It's so heartbreaking to see how the rise of the Nazi party is affecting children on both sides of the war. From Marie-Laure's growing terror, to Werner's loss of innocence, this book is so devastating I suspect I'll be drowning in my own tears before long! :'(

"Her Majesty's son would of course rise quickly, as the sun in splendor does." She basked in the appreciative murmurs for her pitiful pun.

I can't judge, my puns would have to get 1,000 times better just to qualify as pitiful! Like that time I entered a pun contest...

That's a great question! Another one is why are bees always hanging out at Skrillex concerts?!

I want to take a moment to acknowledge all the wonderful people on GoodReads. I have seen so much kindness from so many of you over the years.

Hi, everybody:

It's come to my attention that a former GoodReads friend has posted a status about me and saying some pretty rude (and flat-out untrue) things about me. In the comments, I want to give my side of the story.

Hmmm... Demandred keeps referencing the "Lord of Chaos", but he still hasn't said who the Lord of Chaos actually is. I have a theory...could the Lord of Chaos really be...THE DRAGON?! He has been acting rather erratic lately...

Starting my next read with the Diversity In All Forms" group! So excited to be reading this book with the group! :D

Me reading in public and acting like everything is normal while my mind has been completely blown

McMurphy's got hidden wires hooked to my arm, lifting it slow just to get me out of the fog and into the open where I'm fair game. He's doing it, wires...
No. That's not the truth. I lifted it myself.

That was a tremendous moment of clarity right there! Kinda like this one...

If I was fool enough to try and tell anybody about what I saw, they'd say, "Idiot! Things like that don't exist!"
But if they don't exist, how can a man see them?

Is it wrong that my favorite parts of this book so far are the ones that focus on the Forsaken and all their evil schemes?! What can I say, I love me a good villain who knows how to bring the house down! Like this cat, for instance...

He had come to life for maybe a minute to try to tell us something, something none of us cared to listen to or tried to understand, and the effort had drained him dry. Now he's like an old worthless clock that won't tell time, just keeps ticking and cuckooing without meaning nothing.

In time to the music Mat began the dance, dip and a gliding sidestep to the right, left foot sliding after. Then it was dip and sidestep, twirl face-to-face, dip, sidestep and twirl.

Mat makes it sound so easy! How come when I try to dance, it goes more like this...

What the Chronics are, or most of us, are machines with flaws inside us that can't be repaired, flaws born in, or flaws beat in over so many years of the guy running head-on into solid things that by the time the hospital found him he was bleeding rust.
