I wasn't able to get any reading done yesterday, so instead of a book update today, I'm going to use my GoodReads status to wish all you wonderful people a very Happy Friday and a joyful weekend ahead! :D

I could never equal my sister as an athlete, but my parents didn't want me to feel bad, so they made up a certificate that read, "Valya, you are the bright red star of our hearts". In a way, that made it worse.

I can just imagine Valya's reaction when participation trophies are handed out...

I needed something light, so I went back to this. So far I got 17 mysteries right out of 25. Not bad, but I'm not about to steal Batman's title of "World's Greatest Detective"!

I did pass on all your messages the last time we went through this, and it did brighten his spirit to know even people he had never met were praying and caring about him. I’ll keep you all posted as things go forward this time. I truly love my Goodreads family!

This is the announcement I hoped I would never have to make, but today we found out via CAT scan that my father’s cancer has returned. :( The doctor is ordering more tests to see if it is the same type he had last time. If so, at least we know the chemotherapy was effective then. I will be staying active on GoodReads for now, as the last time you were all such a comfort to us!

Sending prayers and healing wishes to everyone in London, I’m so sorry your city suffered such a horrible attack today. :’( I’ve meet so many wonderful people from all over the globe on this site, I long for the day when everyone follows GoodReads’ example and learns to live together in peace!
