Since this book is located in the horror section, I'm thinking paying close attention to warning signs would be a really good idea right now!

My area of New England is expected to get over a foot of snow today (Seriously, nature, WHAT THE F**K?!?) So in addition to my regularly scheduled buddy reads, I'm going to check out this novel today to help keep mind my off the hours of snow removal I'll be doing later!

For them the churn was an annoyance to be avoided or endured or else a titillation on the newsfeeds. That it was a question of life and death for other people spoke in its favor as entertainment.

Took me 30 minutes to find just the right gif of people fighting for entertainment. Totally worth it!

It was a perfunctory gesture, meaningful only in retrospect, as so many last kisses are.

I'm loving this! When I started a space opera, I was expecting spaceships and "pew pew", but not a crime drama with such powerful prose. I hope the author keeps pulverizing my expectations (and my feels)!

Dozens of soldiers swept around in painted helmets that looked like the heads of huge insects. Behind then came a woman with red panels bearing silver lightning on her skirts.

The Seanchan empire may be cruel and ruthless, but they sure do have some cool armor! Kinda like someone else I know...

Nynaeve had no such compunctions, elbowing past and running hard, shouting for people to get out of her way when she stumbled into them whether they were Windfinders, Kinswomen, or Aes Sedai.

Now I'm just picturing what would happen if someone told Nynaeve to get out of the way...

Winter has arrived! Snow sure is pretty! Well, until you have to put down your book to shovel it... or drive in it...

Thank you so much for all the support and positive energy you've sent my family since my father's hospitalization, everyone! It must have worked, because I was able to bring him home last night, and he seems to be his old self again! You all helped us get through a very hard time!

As my family prepares to celebrate Thanksgiving, I wanted to let my GoodReads friends know how thankful I am for all of you! You all fill my days with joy and laughter, and my life has been so much more fulfilled since meeting all of you! Thank you all for being such amazing and wonderful friends! :D

I'm almost up to the epilogue. It's the sign of a truly great book when you're over 650 pages in and yet you wish there could be at least 600 more pages to go!
