Cozy mysteries have been my favorite thing recently and I’m loving this one:)

I do like this so far, but I think the first one was too good and probably should’ve just stayed a stand alone.

I immediately love how the author recapped book one without feeling like an expo dump. I read it pretty recently so I didn’t need the refresher but it was still great how it was threaded in!

Too much descriptive information that doesn’t really add anything to the book, just makes it too boring. I just skip past all that til dialogue begins again.

Very descriptive and wordy. Could use a bit less imho. But like the characters and story line so will stick with it.

Love the acknowledgement of not using sage both because of it’s endangered and because it’s appropriation.

This one was the definition of mediocre. The small town vibes are nice, but the mystery bored me, and the romance was so disappointing. I understand wanting to put time between the books, and not wanting the romance to happen between the books, but it still doesn't happen in this book and she is even considering dating other men and it just gave me the ick. I was glad for some action scenes, but generally a snorefest

One of the best things about this series is listening to the narrator have to make cat noises. Lol

Her lack of sufficient motivation for looking into this murder is irking me. She keeps talking about being a suspect, yet the only time the police have spoken to her was at the scene of the crime AND the detective is a competent one who doesn't jump to conclusions. She just comes off as paranoid thus far.

Not going to lie I don't like this one as much as the first book. To me it suffers from the second book syndrome. But I'm still enjoying it enough to read the next book in the series.

Really loving the coziness. Not cloying but still happily within genre. Perfect after the previous terrible read. Really liking Phoebe and her circle of friends.
