I'm reading some of my mom's favorite books. I've always believed that reading someone you love's favorite books can make you feel closer to them. So I interrupt my regularly scheduled programming to bond with my mother. :)

Very slow book, having trouble staying interested

There are sooooo many characters. It’s crazy. It’s alright so far, I obviously haven’t gotten bored yet.

Too many threads and POVs, making for a choppy read.

Knyga į mano rankas papuolė atsitiktinai, bet nusprendžiau pabandyti skaityti. Kol kas mane visai įtraukė, bet ne tiek kažkokia paslaptis ar veiksmas, kiek personažų pristatymas. Jis nėra kažkuo ypatingas, bet justi, kad pasakotojui rūpi šie žmonės. Todėl kai miršta tie, kas miršta, galima pajusti šiokį tokį nesmagumą, o tai jau visai neblogai, turint omeny, kad perskaitei tik 50 psl.

Note for review, kind of unbelievable that she'd just hand her keys over to someone she just met even if she knew her granddaughter

The men in this novel are awful though

Possible medium and politics, already I'm intrigued. Also I love how the specificity political party was never mentioned

Determined to just be finished, sooner rather than later.

A bit of a slow start to this one, which is odd, because isn't there typically a little "heart pounding" or something sinister to whet the appetite, and then we slide into building the story? Hopefully, it will pick up some adrenaline soon.

I'm fairly sure I've read this before, probably when it first came out. It might've been the second-to-final Mary Higgins Clark book I read, when even as a 12-year-old I could tell that she was running on fumes. But the audiobook was cheap and I needed something goofy after Thomas Hardy.

Totally didn't realize I already read this book. I don't remember what happens though so it'll be like reading it for the first time again.
