Me gusta mucho como escribe la autora, es muy inteligente. En mismo párrafo puedes sentir alegría y tristeza de manera simultánéa.

My mother said that her son had died of a sickness, as if he hadn’t chosen to leave us. I knew that depression was a sickness. Maybe it was the depression that sent him into the water. It had told my brother that he wasn’t the one who was sick but life was. Being the one who leaves guarantees that you won’t be the one who is left. My mother has never been left. She was gone long before I was born.

If you tell yourself, I’m going to remember this moment for the rest of my life, then you will remember it. You have to focus on your thoughts while simultaneously absorbing everything around you but if you do this, then the moment will stay with you forever, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

The fact that we weren't identical was something I'd long considered a handicap, a consequence of our premature birth, even once I understood the difference between identical and fraternal twins. We could have grown even closer in that ninth month.

omg, this is insufferable. The narrator just goes off on tangents... this reads like one long diary entry with Wikipedia info dumps.

"Yes, he was wearing nothing. Absolutely nothing? No, just a loincloth. A little cloth in front of his loins. And that’s it? Yes, a little cloth. Nothing else. We’d get so excited by the idea of this that we couldn’t stop laughing. "

Stem people once said: Dyson explained to journalist Wim Kayzer what he’d come to understand after a long scientific career was that life was about emotions, people and family.

"After 9/11, someone had written: I hope that none of you felt any pain when everything collapsed and it was raining bodies because that feels unimaginable. But most people went with: There are no words for this. Or shorter still: No words. If you couldn’t think of anything better to say than no words, then we felt it was best not to say anything at all." Agreeing.
