Grooming shouldn’t take place in romance novels and it would have been sooo easy to just make her 18 when the characters first met and bonded. Honestly, I expected a whole mess after finding out about the age difference but it is so far pretty enjoyable. I still find the dialogue and interaction of 16 and 31 y/o persons strange to begin with but it is not inappropriate behavior or so involved.

but modern day, he's an unforgiving ass. We got the lowdown of what happened just before the flashback.

This book felt really rushed. And Pete was a 40 year old man who spent the entire book acting like a 12 year old boy. I just didn’t believe that he actually loved her—there wasn’t enough...ANYTHING to show that he did. Maybe he needed his own POV or something? Idk. Just very disappointing
