I am really hoping that this book is building towards a Stonewall-type riot, but I just don't think that's where it is going....

It feels very hard to put this book down, as there is never a dull moment! Very good so far

I used to think like this. My WIP used to be like this. We defeat our enemies through acts of kindness. We follow their rules, and we can show them a better way. I am not now that optimistic. Can this book rekindle my hope? Would that be a good thing?

Chapter 17

I'm honestly loving this so far!

This book was wayyyyy different than I expected.... but I love it omg

Identity twist as the Snow Queen is revealed and Brystal leverages that threat into getting acceptance and protection for magical people in the four kingdoms. She and her friends become the fairy counsel and Brystal runs the academy now as the fairy godmother.
Fun prequel that I assume is going to be a new series. Kids were acting a bit beyond their years at times, but the message was strong and the humor was nice.

This book is so intriguing so far! It's interesting to see what the land of stories was like before it became what it is when Alex and Connor are around.

Chapter 11

Brystal discovers the Northern Conflict is actually the Snow Queen who Madame Wetherberry has been leaving to fight. After making Brystal promise to kill her if she dies, their teacher has been gone for weeks. Thus the kids have decided to go find her and try to help. They are currently making their way through the dangers of the In-Between.

Really enjoying this one so far. Brystal is a great heroine, some content is a little darker than I expected for middle grade, but I don't mind. Can't wait to learn more about the school and whatever trouble is happening in the Northern Kingdom.
