I thought this book would move faster than this honestly. A mix of the emotional toll and the pacing have made it hard to move through, but it is still a beautiful story.

So far good. I like this even more as I go. It's a challenging read though.

I want to watch the movie after reading this book and compare them!

Made it to the difficult part of the book. I saw some reviews for the book that were mad that Cameron willingly went to "God's Promise" but I don't think they understand what it's like to grow up in that environment. Also fighting them on it wouldn't have stopped her from going. Taking a break from the book for a bit this morning to prepare for the heavy shit coming in it.

I find Coley relatable so far in the book. Having seen the movie I know that will change.
