For the next two hundred years Aldriss thrived until the weight of poor harvest, the ever-intruding rule-making Sassenach, and the MacTaggerts’ own fondness for drinking, gambling, and wild investments (including an early bicycle design, sadly,it had no braking mechanism and after a series of accidents nearly began a war within the clan) began to sink it into disrepair.

Abandoning as I just can’t get into it, mainly due to the narrator’s voice

At this point, I have to remind myself that this is a ROMANCE and it will all work out, because right now I am pissed.

Okay, one dragon down (his mother) next up is her dragon, um, mother. They have talked enough to both be comfortable with the older brother's exit from the field so everything should be smooth sailing. But, now she wants to be courted for herself. Her mother, however, still wants/requires a title so they're trying to outmaneuver her. This time his mother is on their side. This is how one adds an additional 100 pages.

This villain is Niall's mother. Manipulation of a person's life is heinous. The setup of the story is so creatively convoluted it suggests a farce but the author has stuck with it so far. If the ending includes the mother saying she did it for love, I'm going to cast up my accounts. So far I like the hero and heroine so I depending on them to help the author out.

Till now I find the girl judgmental. Like listen the hero he said he hated Sassenach but at least he acted as a hero. The heroine though is an annoying brat.

I’m in the midst of reviewing hundreds of pages of documents for a case. It should take about the next 3 weeks. Thus I need some light easy reads. So far this is perfect.
