I also find myself missing a few aesthetics of Braswell, like her naming of the chapters and her mini interludes!

This one definitely picked up a lot faster than the last 3, but I’m not super familiar with the Mulan movies so maybe that is aiding my case 🤪

I don't know why but my brain is picturing the animated version as I'm reading this word for word. A little fast paced but decent so far.

I'm not sure I like the way this one starts in the middle of the story without any exposition.

I seriously considered stopping reading this book. It has been extremely boring until now, except for a few parts. On the total of 300 pages I've read so far, something like 50 pages have been really interesting. This book is so painful to read, I honestly don't know why I continued to read it.

Okay I had a really hard time focusing on this book. The first 200 pages are super super boring. And the book is less than 400 pages... which means almost the ⅔ of it are just boring....

I’m loving the quotes and flashbacks that are so perfectly intertwined in this re-imagining, like when Mulan tells Zhang “sounds like you need a girl who’s got a brain, who always speaks her mind”

is it bad that i wish Mushu was here? 'cause i kinda wish Mushu was here.

I’m loving the creepy vibe of the underworld here. Reminds me a little of Rules for Vanishing.

I have always loved Mulan but I was slightly disappointed with the live action version. I’m hopeful that this re-imagining will be good, and so far it’s pretty promising!

This novel has gotten GOOD. I can't wait to read more.

It's been years since I've watched Mulan and the beginning left me very confused. It starts right away in the battle and there's just no introduction to the characters etc. Maybe that's a hint for me to re-watch Mulan...

I'm back at it again. I've already read one book of the series "Twisted Tales" and it honestly was meh.
Hope this one will do better...
