Gave up. Dull. Boring. The amount of information in here would make for a big pamphlet. But certainly not a book.

im encountering here the same issues i normally have with self-help books: the author just goes on and on and on, repeating the same concept thirty times but in slightly different ways, hoping it’ll click for you this time (it clicked for me twenty eight times ago). but i started using obsidian today and OH BOY THAT SHIT’S ADDICTIVE!! my adhd brain sees thoughts as little bubbles and goes insane

So far rather waffly, and reads more like a history book than a howto

I avoided reading this for a long time. Am now reading as a follow up to some research I’ve been doing on zettelkasten and productivity
The main issue I have so far beyond lack of examples is this seems to take a narrow view of what notes can be. I use notes for many different purposes. In the context of crystallizing ideas for coherent academic-type writing there are useful things here.

I’m all hyped up for this book. Watched few youtube vids about Zettelkasten last night and I can feel it in my bones how transformative this knowledge management system will be in my life.

“Taking permanent notes of our own thoughts is a form of self-testing as well: do they still make sense in writing? Are we even able to get the thought on paper? Do we have the references, facts and supporting sources at hand?”

To se nedá. Jestli by nějaká kniha měla být článkem, nebo rovnou tweetem (parafráze M. Kavky), tak je to rozhodně tahle.
Já to prostě dočtu.

This book is terribly misnamed. It doesn't tell you HOW to do anything. It's just a manifesto on WHY you should take "smart notes" (which is book-selling speak for the Zettlekastern method.)

Not sure if I want to continue the book. Ever since around the 40% mark, the book keeps on repeating itself. 😪
