She can sometimes come across as too passive-aggressive towards the "extroversion assumption", especially in her quasi-polemic distaste of America's "party" culture that "entrains" and forcibly compels introverts to be "more social."

Incredible and inspiring book, so far! I am just left pondering on the fine line between an introvert's need for time and space and attention deficit disorders and difficulties with deadline pressure, which require greater time accommodation.

Through first four chapters, very insightful and affirming for this introvert who clashes with mother regularly over my way of dealing with this world.

Good, but it was almost memoir-ish with how much the author talked about herself and that wasn't what I was looking for.

"An introvert just needs time and space, and interaction occurs more spontaneously. But because we get so little time and space, we spend more time defending our boundaries than we do reaching beyond them."

We are Shadow Dwellers: our reference point is from within and, in this sense, we walk alone.

They (introverts) just find the classroom too noisy and are annoyed by the kids who are hyperactive or disruptive. These clients predictably propose a very simple solution: “If only I could study by myself, I’d be fine.” One of the teens I worked with
told me about how she loves to take tests, because it is quiet and everyone is occupying their own space.

For him, self-communings are a pleasure. His own world is a safe harbor, a carefully tended and walled-in garden, closed to the public and hidden from prying eyes. His own company is the best. He feels at home in his world, where the only changes are made by himself. His best work is done with his own resources, on his own initiative, and in his own way.

The conversation is “mind to mind” rather than “mouth to mouth.”

Introverts generally prefer a rich inner life to an expansive
social life; we would rather talk intimately with a close friend
than share stories with a group; and we prefer to develop our
ideas internally rather than interactively.

I am completely enthralled by this book. This is the first book fully centered upon introversion and surprisingly my second choice to "The introvert Advantage". I literally cannot put it down! I got it Monday & am almost completely done with it already.

As an introvert, I delightfully looked forward to reading this book. As cheesy as this may sound, it did empower me to be more comfortable in my introversion and finding time amongst the noise to be comfortable with that. I thought that I wad already comfortable, however, the author brought up topics that one may not have thought about, such as saying no to an outing and being okay with that. I truly recommend!!!

This book is seriously like reading my own thoughts, lots of which ideas never able to put into words or understand before.

I feel like I need to make my whole (extroverted) family read this in order to "get" me. Of course, they don't read...

I am a proud introvert and this book knows exactly what kind of a person I am, thus with the very first words from the very first chapter, I knew I would love this fruitful book. :)
