Really great read...at times it would get a little confusing and was like reading the conversation of someone that was a little too excited and rambling about a favorite topic. But I really enjoyed it and felt that it was not overly serious, gave a lot of good advice and didn't seem judgmental at all.

Amazing. I thought this book has same concepts that we have already read in atomic habits, slight edge or any other blogs, but some exercises are so helpful. And it is useful to know ur tendencies. Grateful for the author for this knowledge.

It’s ok. Learning about the different types of people is interesting but I find the author to be kind of repetitive.

Sometimes when a book becomes available at the library I know I won’t finish reading it in the 4 weeks that I have the book, but I start it anyway to figure out if I should queue for it again or buy it. And I’ve read enough of this book to realize that I’m an Obliger, and I need library return dates to motivate me to finish a book. If I buy it I’ll never finish it! So, queueing! Also, good book!

I jus preoccupied along these pages. Instead of seeing stumbles as the proof of weakness, it's habit-forming phases. A paradox written: a stumble isn't a big deal, and yet it's a big deal. How to's deal with any kind of breaking circumstances are also founded here.

Started off good, and pulled some interesting concepts from it, but the author came off as so unlikeable and annoying.

“If ten coins are not enough to make a man rich, what if you add one coin? What if you add another? Finally, you will have to say that no one can be rich unless one coin can make him so.” Erasmus ,,The Praise of Folly”

In other words, even though one coin certainly isn’t sufficient to make a man rich, a man only becomes rich by adding one coin after another.”

Fake self-actualization loophole: “I want to embrace myself, just as I am. (I try to remember to “Accept myself, and expect more from myself.”)

“For most of us, the real aim isn’t to enjoy a few pleasures right now, but to build habits that will make us happy over the long term.

False choice loophole: “I have to make an either/or decision, when in fact, the two aren’t necessarily in conflict”
e.g. “If I go to sleep earlier, I won’t have any time to myself.”

Arranging to fail loophole: seemingly harmless decisions that later become irresistable
“I’ll just check my email quickly before I go to the meeting, and then make this one call … oh no, it’s so late”

“It’s human nature: we seek loopholes”

Moral licensing loophole - “we argue that we’re entitled to be “bad” now because we plan to be “good” in the future” or we’ve been good enough.
Tommorow loophole - “Now doesn’t matter, because we’re going to follow good habit tommorow”

“We argue that circumstances force us to break a habit, but often, we have more control than we admit”

“Make it easy to do right, and hard to go wrong.”

Family should go above the habits. Jamie is the husband. ,,I don’t want habit to deaden me to Jamie’s presence. I don’t want to take him for granted, to listen to him with only half my attention, to look at him without seeing him. I want my habits to help free me to pay more attention to him, and to everything else that’s important to me”
