Such interesting thoughts. I'm an obliger, an owl, an over buyer, a lover of abundance, a marathoner with procrastinator tendencies, and a promotion person. Who knew. Also, love the fact that procrastinator comes from the Latin word for tomorrow. So much sense.

It's taken me a while to actually sit down and read this book but it's interesting.

This is great if you like dumbed-down basic cog psychology.

Ugh. I'm interested in the research, but Gretchen Rubin comes off as such a type-A special snowflake. Also,I find the text deeply oblivious about class and mental health issues. I find the strong presence of her personality in the writing style nearly unbearable.

I started this book then put it down to read a couple others. I'm excited to really get into it now. The idea behind the book is very intriguing.

Delightful. She is unquestioningly resolute in determining the best ways to make changes in habits. She's also consistently positive. A sunny book - I'm enjoying it so much that I'm searching for time pockets to read.

Rubin is killing it - I've already found myself nodding along so often to do much of this!

Rubin seems to take her framework a little too seriously, as if it's some truth she discovered and not something she just made up (without consulting psychology, as far as I can tell). She sees research study citation as a rhetorical trick to be used only when her interlocutor doesn't believe her personal stories.
Also, her stories make her sound preoccupied with weight in a way that cannot possibly be healthy.

Comforting and practical despite the occasionally righteous and sentimental tone. Her other books are much sharper.

Found it very useful. The concepts/categories gave me lots of insight, and the book included lots of great tips. Now I want to go back and read it again and take notes.

There's a real difference between "I don't" and "I can't".

What forced me to finish this book - 1) I put it on hold at the library. I knew I couldn't renew it because the due date was before my trip. 3) I had two doctors appointments this week which gave me 5 hours. 4) I took the bus today which gave me another 30. I'm not sure if this book will help my habits at all. but now I have this wandering Gretchen character in my head telling me what to do.

Caved into the marketing quiz of this book. Half-way through the introduction I remember I have read some book about habits before but I barely remember what it said about habits.

I really want to like this book but so far it has been hard. Over use of me,I and my- too self absorbed for me. And then all the repetition and unnecessary stretching of insignificant concepts, I hope theres a change in the next few chapters and I find something meaningful in this self help book!

This is really easy to listen to. Rubin's isn't the strongest audiobook reader, but it's interesting to hear where she puts emphasis.

I love how workaday Gretchen Rubin's advice often is. It makes me feel like it's actually possible to accomplish things that I want to accomplish.
