Ugh this is 😑

This book got me hooked, and seemed very interesting. But, after the first few chapters, it has been pretty stagnant. The characters are not interesting enough, and they don’t have enough contrast. I am around half way through the book, and it feels like it’s taking forever.

This is the zaniest book, like the Westing Game on speed. All these kids are way better read/can smoke trivia games better than most adults.

Also, I can’t wait until the old-money bro gets his comeuppance.

Our family reading time read.... so far we are all enjoying it!

This book is really good fun!!! I'm listening to it because I gave a copy to my nieces for their birthday and I didn't get to finish reading before hand. Mr. Lemoncello is like a book and game nerd's (of which I am both) version of a modern day Willy Wonka.

Great! But the characters so far are a little bland. I’ll just have to finish it!!

So far, we LOVE this book.

I should like this one more than I do...an ode to books with a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory feel should be my cup of tea...but I’m slogging through it just to finish. I think it’s because the “you can be in my TV commercial” prize for escaping the library just isn’t high enough stakes to care too deeply. Oh well, my son and I are enjoying reading together and he’s happy so that’s what counts.
