So far, this is... odd. I think I like it? We've had a lot of introduction to this society Kelderek lives in. Seems to be equivalent to v v early medieval? We have agriculture, & some kind of class system with "barons", but the most sophisticated on-page tech is an abacus, barely anyone can read, & animal worship is the order of the day.
Oh & there's a weird all-female cult that's very Tombs-of-Atuan-esque.
