Из минусов - некоторые главы концентрируются больше не на базе, а на вещах типа "а давайте подымем кластер на aws".

I'm reading this with a book club at work. We use Postgres already, and I know SQL, but I learned a bunch from that chapter. Unfortunately I haven't been able to install Riak or HBase as easily. Also the book really is written for programmers, as it says. While I can figure out how to read most of the code in the book, I would have a lot of trouble writing it.

book is slightly outdated on Riak, but still seems workable as an intro, in tandem with Riak documentation.

Did she do it - kill 'em three? That's what Stockholm's best police are trying to figure out the last 70 pages or so.

Been sitting on my coffee table for months. Finally got through the "stuff I should already know" (basic/intermediate Postgres) part.

Pretty good so far - done Postgresql, Riak and HBase, now on Mongo

Difficult to be excited about HBase, but I really want to try Mongo for realz!

Riak sounds cool, although not sure what I'd use it for. On to HBase!

PostgreSQL: looks way cooler than MyQL, but I think I'll stick with SQL Server.
