I had a hard time deciding whether to give this book 3 or 4 stars. On the one hand, it was riveting. I felt like I couldn’t put it down. On the other, I didn’t think the writing style was that special, and it’s not a book I would read again. The novelty of this book lies in not knowing the story and watching different storylines unfold, but the mark of great literature is a story that you can enjoy rereading. it was amazing
I don’t know that I’ve ever read a novel that so sums up the joy and heartache and sacrifice of motherhood, or holds it to such a high ideal. I also don’t know when I’ve cried so much during a book. All the things that happen to Abbie Deal resonated deep in my soul as a mother. I don’t know that I would have loved this book as much before I become a mother, but it was so inspiring and heartwarming to me as one that I just know it is going to end ...more
