it was amazing
This was my first book for Modern Mrs. Darcy's 2019 Reading Challenge - a book I've been meaning to read. It had come up several times as similar to others I've enjoyed, my sister lent it to me (unsolicited), and then a librarian recommended it, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. Great start to a new reading year!

It's a wonderful story of friendship with a fascinating backdrop of life in the circus during World War II.

really liked it
It was hard to get into, with multiple narrators and no indication of when a switch is made. It took me a few chapters to realize there were in fact only two narrators, and after that it was easier to follow and a very compelling story.
