Will’s first review of the year
it was ok
This was okay, but a bit too US-centric and written to convince someone with very different starting assumptions about public services to mine. (For example, the chapters about health insurance could have been much shorter in the UK, at least for the time being.) I got the gist of their general point very early in the book, and the rest of the book mostly served as a series of anecdotes confirming that I don't want to live in the USA.

Pleasingly concise. It was a bit slow in places so that's probably for the best. I enjoyed this more than the Alex Garland adaptation, which I saw first, and enough to go straight on to Authority.
