Homicide by David Simon
Reece’s first review of the year
it was amazing
Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets is an absolute, stone-cold true-crime classic, and the best book about police work that I've read. I was surprised to discover how much Simon's all-time-great TV series The Wire draws upon the material in this book.

Reece’s last review of the year
it was amazing
Blake Crouch knocks it out of the park with this one. In addition to being a gripping and mind-bending thriller, Recursion is a moving meditation on time and memory.
