it was amazing
This was a really great sequel. I often find that the middle book in a trilogy can stall out a bit, but I thought this one was super solid. By this point, the characters have been largely introduced and we have a feel for their motivations, so the actual plot can really get chugging along. There were plenty of surprises and the ending was really satisfying. The third book should be released to my library tomorrow and I can’t wait to fight through ...more

Really beautiful and intimate set of stories about the complex emotions around black women and their hair. As a white woman, I am absolutely certain that a lot of this went over my head and I'm sure it resonated more deeply with folks who have lived similar experiences.
