The book shows how drug cartels handle their operations, recruit employees, traffic contraband, handle press and politics in their hands and perform many other illicit activities. Author compares cartels to large legal companies, which similarly handle their businesses, ie. by franchising their brands or use monopsonies, to keep coca leaves price as low as possible.
