This was an interesting look at a family in Nigeria, with the main characters (a husband and wife) sharing narration duties and examining their marriage with a close lens. The narrative moved around in time a lot, which was interesting and a great way of revealing details. But be warned: it's a sad read! I enjoyed it nonetheless, though I found the ending (which I guessed in advance) to be a little bit unrealistic feeling. As someone who has read ...more

This book could have been maybe 1/3 of the length and gotten its point across. Some interesting takeaways and ways of coping mentally with the "sugar dragon" but so much fluff/repeated sections.
