I haven't been a huge Wharton fan so far, but I'm thinking I should revisit her. This was so well done. Gripping to watch the story and characters unfold; some of the developments were genuinely surprising. Undine was so desperately unlikable, but also, in some moments, shamefully relatable. I think she would strike most honest people so--not necessarily her selfishness, but at least her struggle to achieve the life she thinks she wants. I know i ...more

I SO needed this book in my life right now. It is just light, engaging, and eminently chuckleable. Written in 1906, it is one of Wodehouse's earliest, so it is rather charming and unpolished. Supposedly it was revised in the 20s, but I think the Librivox recording I listened to was the original.
