The first paragraph was very intriguing, but I got up to page 25 and decided to leave it - it felt too much like hard work, and I wasn't really enjoying it.

I remember loving this story on tv, but the book - I got up to page 13 and gave up. The lengthy and detailed character descriptions are just too tedious for me. Can't see myself ploughing through nearly 600 pages of this.

C.S. Lewis
“It is after you have realized that there is a real Moral Law, and a Power behind the law, and that you have broken that law and put yourself wrong with that Power—it is after all this, and not a moment sooner, that Christianity begins to talk.”
C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
“So the little prince tamed the fox. And when the hour of his departure drew near--

Ah," said the fox, "I shall cry."

It is your own fault," said the little prince. "I never wished you any sort of harm; but you wanted me to tame you . . ."

Yes, that is so," said the fox.

But now you are going to cry!" said the little prince.

Yes, that is so," said the fox.

Then it has done you no good at all!"

It has done me good," said the fox, "because of the color of the wheat fields.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
