Such an interesting story about a house and how it draws people back to it. It's not all about the house of course, the main character, Danny is an interesting dry young man (whom we see grow into adulthood) I found very likable. His sister is my ...more

I really enjoyed this fictional story of the night witches under Stalin's reign. I first heard about these women who flew bombers in the war from Comedy Central's show, Drunk History. If you have not watched it, I highly recommend giving it a go if ...more

As far as YA fantasy goes this one is pretty good. I will complete the series to see where it leads. I am not as engaged with the characters as some YA novels had me, but the storyline is intense and intriguing.

“I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes me a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in. It's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault. I get out immediately.

walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

I walk down another street.”
