This is a sprawling and at times brilliant and at times maddening autobiography. Sterling Hayden is truly one of a kind. Recommended for all, especially those traveling for something may not know they're actually searching for.

Just reread this bad boy. Hilarious and some heart wrenching stories. Sedaris doesn't pull any punches, and makes you laugh while you're getting pummeled with life's idiosyncrasies.

This book captures a young man's struggle with his mother's manic-depression with both style and humor. As someone who's dealt with a parent's mental illness, I was blown away by the way he was able to turn a trial into a triumph.
