Book cover for The Snapshot Killer: The shocking true story of predator and serial killer Christopher Wilder - from Sydney's beaches to America's Most Wanted
Van McDonald was one of Wilder’s racing mates and said of him: ‘If I were to draw up a list of the five nicest guys I know, Christopher Wilder’s name would be somewhere on that list. He was a super gentleman, generous to a fault.’

For some reason, I've never been a big fan of short-story collections. It may be that they often do not give me time to identify with a character before the tale ends. This charming collection, however, centers around one family and their eccentric q ...more
LeAnne: GeezerMom is 67% done with Inspection: After making it to the half way point, thank goodness I persevered (and had nothing else downloaded in audio to keep me company cleaning closets). This is YA and not necessarily my thing, but it has improved considerably from the semi-yech half.

"Occasionally the premise of a book is so strong that it screams out to be read as soon as possible, and that premise is so strong that it shares the attention of the reader throughout. In the last couple of years I can think only of Mallock’s ‘A..." Read more of this review »

William Faulkner
“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth.”
William Faulkner

Marilyn Monroe
“I used to think as I looked out on the Hollywood night — there must be thousands of girls sitting alone like me, dreaming of becoming a movie star. But I'm not going to worry about them. I'm dreaming the hardest.”
Marilyn Monroe

Viktor E. Frankl
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”
Viktor E. Frankl

Thomas Jefferson
“On matters of style, swim with the current, on matters of principle, stand like a rock.”
Thomas Jefferson

Flannery O'Connor
“Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best-seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.”
Flannery O'Connor
