I've got over twenty years of stories knocking around in my head, I just wish I could devote the first 9 hours of my day to writing full time!

Generally I'll complete a novel in a week or so, usually writing several at once. After a while I'll hit a fatigue period for about a month, then get right back to it!(less)

Inspiration can come from the most interesting and unlikely of places; Kill All Christians came about from my disgust with a certain JRPG franchise and a certain high speed action game. Tribus Dulce came from my years of being bullied, as well as my overcoming having been sexually abused as a child.

Nora and the Eternal Waterwheel came about because I wanted to write about this cool interstellar warrior princess that popped into my head one day. The Vengeance Trilogy came about because I wanted to challenge the statement that only Japanese people can comprehend the emotions of "setsunai" and "mono no awari".

And, be okay with the people who love you, not being the ones who support you. I actually only have two friends that have ever read a novel I wrote to completion, and, only one novel each. Lots of people I know personally have never actually purchased one of my books. Don't let that discourage you! Find your positivity, focus and drive for yourself, and keep moving forward.

Be okay with hearing no! I have a box of rejection letters, the Christian publishing houses saying my books are too maverick, and the secular ones telling me to stop talking about God and sex the books up to sell more. That's fine; shake the dust from your feet and keep moving forward!

And lastly, DO NOT EVER DELETE ANYTHING YOU WROTE THAT YOU DON'T LIKE! I cannot stress this enough. I've had concepts that I thought panned out to a pile of garbage that I returned to days, weeks, months and sometimes years later only to realize "I've got the makings of a stellar work, with a bit of work!"

And of course, stay true, challenge yourself, don't pander for anyone, and above all else, HAVE FUN!(less)
