Christopher J. Mocella received his bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from Washington College in Chestertown, MD in 2001, having studied as a research associate under Dr. John Conkling. Chris continued to work with Dr. Conkling at his Summer Pyrotechnics Seminar series and assisted with the second edition of the Chemistry of Pyrotechnics text. Following graduate studies in chemistry at the University of Virginia, Chris took a position as a chemist with the U.S. federal government where he continues his career today. Dr. Conkling turned over primary authorship for the third edition of the Chemistry of Pyrotechnics to Chris, which was published in 2019. Chris lives with his wife and son near Annapolis, MD, USA.

The same way a plumber would deal with plumber's block: just keep working and get it done!

But if there is a real break, go and do something focusing but calm, like playing with kids blocks (Melissa & Doug colored blocks are my choice), play with Legos, or even a pile of rocks from outside. There's nothing quite like it.(less)
