"Already started with Chopin (one of the hardest) but didn't play it the way the author suggested. So I'd probably start with the easy Mozart and Haydn pieces as sight reading exercises. But Tchaikovsky's "Album For the Young" seems easier though. Don't know why it wasn't suggested." Dec 18, 2019 08:06PM

How could I have forgotten to review this?
(I don't remember when I finished this but this was the last book I read in 2019)

It surprised me in many ways. It was BLOODY and it was BRILLIANT. Can I just say BLOODY BRILLIANT? I applaud the execution of

How amazing to be able to play an instrument, Jule thought. Whatever happened to you, whatever else went on in your life, you could look down at your hands and think, I play the piano. You’d always know that about yourself.
Claire (bookscoffeeandrepeat) added a status update: Ever since I've seen CW's Legacies, I saw the "enemies to romance" potential of Hope Mikaelson and Ryan Clarke, I just want to read more books with this trope. This non-canon ship is fueling me the start of 2020. Dead or alive, HOLARKE/HOPAN/CLOPE, I ship it. I need help clearly.

To gush about this book would mean spoiling things, so I'll try my best to keep my excitement level at the minimum. First of all, I want to thank the publisher for providing a copy. I was thrilled when I won a copy of this book and it went so

Jeffrey Eugenides
“We could never understand why the girls cared so much about being mature, or why they felt compelled to compliment each other, but sometimes, after one of us had read a long portion of the diary out loud, we had to fight back the urge to hug one another or tell each other how pretty we were. We felt the imprisonment of being a girl, the way it made your mind active and dreamy, and how you ended up knowing which colors went together. We knew that the girls were our twins, that we allexisted in space like animals with identical skins, and that they knew everything about us though we couldn'y fathom them at all. We knew finally that the girls were really woman in diquise, that they understood love even death, and that our job was merely to create the noise that seemed to fascinate them.”
Jeffrey Eugenides, The Virgin Suicides
