This was one of those books I should have read in school. I enjoyed it very much, but think it would have had a more profound impact had I been younger.

I absolutely loved this book. Part historical epic, part fantasy romance, it kept me on my toes until the very end.

A dark depiction of the dark underbelly of society; addiction, obsession and insanity fuel this novel until the bitter end. This is a novel that will stay with you for many years.
