A remarkable history of Twitter

Assuming what Bilton wrote is substantially factually accurate, this is a remarkable story. It's also a tragedy of sorts, in which egos ruined lives, distorted perspectives, and left Twitter under the control of a CEO w

Going with the flow

This book focused on the other frontier we know so little about: the ocean. It follows it's central character through his career in a future agency dedicated to ocean wildlife.

I really felt like this book was written in a different

When post-Earth Humans meet

This book wasn't what I expected, and it consistently defied typical storylines. What happens when the last Humans on Earth catch up with a colony of Humans started centuries before on a distant planet.

Just as good my second or third time

I think I skipped 2061 on my way to this book. I really enjoyed it this second or third time. These books have aged a little but not nearly enough to render them too outdated to thoroughly enjoy.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice.”
Will Smith

Pete Seeger
“Any darn fool can make something complex; it takes a genius to make something simple.”
Pete Seeger

Franklin D. Roosevelt
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Joyce Carol Oates
“The ideal art, the noblest of art: working with the complexities of life, refusing to simplify, to "overcome" doubt.”
Joyce Carol Oates, The Journal of Joyce Carol Oates: 1973-1982
