Family, writing, traveling, friends, enjoying the world while I'm here to enoy it, hopefully to leave something worthwhile behind: this is my life.

My novella, DELPHINE, published by Texas Review Press, won the Clay Reynolds Novella Competition. I've also published three novels (THE NIGHT ACTION, New American Library and Signet Books; MAN ON FIRE, Pyramid Books; and STREET SMARTS, Beaufort Books and Ace Books.) Recently, I’ve also completed a new novel and I always have several projects in progress.

My first novel, THE NIGHT ACTION, originally published in 1966, has been republished with a new cover and author introduction by Automat Press as an ebook, available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and other sources. It has been called the

One of the most exciting and enthralling trips that my wife, Sherrill, and I ever took was a month exploring Eastern India, especially the part called West Bengal, where we traveled with a small group of good friends to areas that almost never saw visitors from outside their little world.
