Trivia Question

It's Nursery Rhyme time again!

In 1744 "Tommy Thumb's Pretty Song Book" (I kid you not) carried a rhyme about a certain diminutive gent who "sings for his supper", so bringing this figure of speech into common parlance, meaning (of course) the act of giving something (usually services) in return for remuneration. A little over two centuries later, another person of the same name also sang for his supper. In fact, this gentleman was an American blues singer-songwriter and pianist, who, in 1964 had a hit song, "Hi-Heel Sneakers", that went to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song had a catchy tune and simple but very hip lyrics. It was so admired, that it was covered, over the years, by hundreds of artistes, including Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Sammy Davis Jr., Janis Joplin, Jose Feliciano, Buddy Guy & Junior Wells, Tom Jones, John Lee Hooker, Cleo Laine, Pharoah Sanders, Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead and Ramsey Lewis. Quite a list!

So, what was the name shared by these two singers for their supper?

Choose the correct answer:

Marvin Gaye Rancid Hauptknuckel Tommy Tucker Miles Davis
