Trivia Question

Lesser-known works - an ongoing series.

One of the many animals sadly neglected by award-winning authors is the Humboldt's Hog-nosed Skunk, also known as the Patagonian Hog-nosed Skunk (Conepatus humboldtii). Even the better-known South American authors have ignored it, despite the fact that it is indigenous to the open grassy areas in the Patagonian regions of Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay. A valiant attempt was made in 2001 by Sonia C Zapata, Alejandro Travaini and Rolando Martínez-Peck, with their whistful yet zany work "Seasonal feeding habits of the Patagonian hog-nosed skunk Conepatus humboldtii in southern Patagonia", Acta Theriologica 46: 97–102, but this noble exposition seems to have been ignored by all the major literary awards (although the Smolensk branch of the Red Army Widowers' Book Club had it as their selection for August 2004).

In stark contrast, another Humboldt title had spectacular success, winning the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and contributing to the author winning the Nobel Prize in Literature that same year. The book?
