It is that time again. For those who are new - we run a random number generator to generate 3 numbers per month. I post them. You vote. We read. We discuss starting on the 15th of each month. Let's use the "polls" feature this time and see how we do.

The polls will run until February 7th - next Saturday and I will post the official results on Sunday morning. It's cutting it a little close to March but I think we will be okay :-)

Don't forget that February's selection is Middlesex.

Some fun choices this time! Here they are

The Birds Fall Down – Rebecca West

Amateurs – Donald Barthelme

The House in Paris – Elizabeth Bowen

APRIL 15 - MAY 15
City of God – E.L. Doctorow

David Copperfield – Dickens

Life and Times of Michael K. – Michael Coetzee

MAY 15 - JUNE 15
An Obedient Father

Good Morning, Midnight – Jean Rhys

Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Truman Capote

Directions - the polls link is on the list of links on the right. On my screen it's beneath "updates." Click and find the poll. Click your choice. Your name show up next to your vote, so no cheating and triple clicking!

Also, to be fair, voting will end at exactly 10 PM my time (Eastern USA) on Saturday. I figure everyone who's involved in this group really would have checked and voted by then, and since we're doing the polls, having an exact time will keep me fro being able to conveniently stop the voting when my favorites have gained enough votes :-)

Leila (leilatre) | 36 comments Great idea to use the poll feature! Makes it easier to guess at which will win too (for those of us who jump the gun at things). :)

Denise | 235 comments Mara, thanks for organizing this. It looks like some more good selections. I've been meaning to read Doctorow. Looks like I'll get my chance.

Good for you, for figuring out the Polls feature. I enjoyed watching the race.
