DevonAlyse The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson

I tried really hard to get into this book...I barely made it to Chapter 4. I hate putting a book down and admitting defeat...but I hate to force myself to read something too.

Good for you. I don't think that anyone should ever read something they aren't really into.

See - now I would make #7 numbers 7, 8 & 9 - they are Three COMPLETE Novels after all. Just because 3 books were bundled into 1 publication doesn't mean they aren't still 3 books. If you checked them out individually from the library would you only count them as thirds?

message 9: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melobrien) | 71 comments Molly thats so true. So DevonAlyse looks like you've finished 11 books.

message 10: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse Sweet! Eleven Books!! It never really even crossed my mind to count that one as three books!

message 11: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse Edit post:
7-9.) Stephen King: Three Complete Novels: Carrie, Salems Lot, and The Shining (1104 pages)
read 3/10/9 - 4/2/9

10.) Coraline by Neil Gaimann (192 pages)
read 3/20/99-3/22/9

11.) The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd (302 pages)
read 4/3/9-4/7/9

And a new book to add:

12.) Conversations with the Fat Girl (328 pages)
read 4/16/9

message 12: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse 13.) Seeing Me Naked (288 pages)
read 4/22/9-4/23/9

message 13: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse 14.) The Little Giant of Aberdeen County (352 pages)
read 4/24/9-4/31/9

message 14: by DevonAlyse (last edited May 28, 2009 06:22AM) (new)

DevonAlyse 15.) Twilight (498 pages)
read 5/7/9-5/8/9

16.) New Moon (563 pages)
read 5/10/9

Note: I do NOT recommend that you sit and read any of these in one sitting like I did with New Moon. Today I have a headache from staring at the pages, and my work is suffering from lack of sleep...but I honestly could not make myself put it down.

Aprile (aprileb) The whole series is like that. You have been warned.

I'm learning. I stayed up til 5 this morning reading Eclipse from cover to cover...I'm so sleepy.

And on that note:

17.)Eclipse (629 pages)
read 5/12/9-5/13/9

(i'm taking two days here, even though it was technically one night - from 6 pm to 5am)

Also, random, the soundtrack and score are amazing. Just putting that out there!!

message 17: by DevonAlyse (last edited May 20, 2009 06:13AM) (new)

DevonAlyse 18.) Breaking Dawn (754 pages)
read 5/15/9-5/17/9

So, easily my favorite and least favorite of the series. Can't explain that with out giving anything away though so...

message 18: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse 19.) Midnight Sun (264 pages)
read 5/19/9

Uh, yeah...I hope she finishes this...I was trying incredibly hard to not laugh out loud and wake my roommates!!! I don't remember Twilight being this funny...maybe it's the perspective...

message 19: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse 20.) Mansfield Park (464 pages)
read 5/22/9-5/23/9

21.) Sense and Sensibility (368 pages)
read 5/23/9-5/24/9

I managed to get through these. I guess I'm not big on classic lit, but I had hard time reading both of these.

Re-reads:

1.) Twilight (498 pages)
read 5/24/9

2.) New Moon (563 pages)
read 5/25/9

message 20: by DevonAlyse (last edited May 29, 2009 02:15PM) (new)

DevonAlyse 22.) Thirst (300 pages)
5/26/9

I was not captivated by this book. It was incredibly slow and had lots of unnecessary details.

message 21: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse I'm having a hard time finding a book at the moment, so i've been doing some re-reads.

3.) Eclipse (629 pages)
5/27/9

4.) Animal Farm (139 pages)
5/28/9

Any book suggestions GREATLY appreciated.

message 22: by Cam (new)

Cam I Am the Messenger By Markus Zusak. Very funny, very clever man Mr Zusak. The Book Thief is totally different to this, but you already have that on your to read list, so I thought I'd suggest something that wasn't! This book rarely rates a mention next to the later book & I just don't understand why? It's excellent.
Happy hunting DevonAlyse
Cheers & Regards
Cam

message 23: by Mary Todd (new)

Mary Todd (marytodd) | 924 comments I agree...it ties for best book I ever read...right next to To Kill a Mockingbird

message 24: by DevonAlyse (new)

DevonAlyse Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check it out!! I hate not being able to get into a book, and I just can't seem to find one to hold my interest at the moment.
