It felt like history was being made as I watched the new president interview with Al-Arabiya, extending a hand of friendship toward the Muslim world and voicing the clear distinction he sees between the terrorists and the rest of the Muslim world (finally, finally someone who can see that). The majority of Muslims lead very ordinary lives, power no conflicts and hence are considered unworthy of prime time news. They are the ones we never hear about. Maybe we will now.

Good for Obama, the directive to listen is a good one too.

Who else felt this is a start of something big?

You don't know you're a misfit until you are marked as an outcast.

Libby (beefrabbit) | 2 comments In general, I feel so elated about this new president. In the first two weeks in office, he's managed to touch on every issue I see as an important one. I read a commentary about how he should be wary focusing all his time reversing everything Bush-like and not coming up with his own ideas, but if it needs reversing or doing away with, thank goodness he's doing that immediately! I'm hoping his hand of friendship will continue us down the right path. xx

Well said. Good days ahead, Libby. Let's hope the trend continues and if anything intensifies.
