Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments Hey i am just wondering if u guys have any good YW activiys to share with us.

message 2: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments Got any ideas. share them please!

message 3: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wallace (sibes11sbcglobalnet) Well, here are some of the best ones that I've done:
1. Everybody comes wearing their pajamas and brings their favorite book to share, a pillow, a flashlight, and a blanket. You turn out all the lights, get comfy, and share what you like about your book (if it's short enough, you even read it)
2. Everybody uses placemats and ribbon to make scripture bags
3. Actually, I can't think of any more :P I'll tell you if I can think of others.

message 4: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Night sledding is fun. We're doing that tomorrow. But that's more of a combined YM/YW thing. Once, we did a Christmas party in July, just cuz we could. It was awesome.

message 5: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wallace (sibes11sbcglobalnet) Oh, that's another one that I just remembered! There was one time when we had combined YM/YW dodgeball tournament ... that was surprisingly good!

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

OH! I love going ice skating combined! One activity that we did recently is making/decorating cookies for the inactives. It was so fun! ANd also, try learning how to crochet scarfs. You can count that as Personal Progress KNOWLEDGE! YAY!

message 7: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments Wow great ideas. thanks. did u guys know that sledding is illeagal to do as an activity. our bishop said "no Sledding. people can get hurt" we were all dispointed. one time our ward played dodge ball and it was horrible. the girls just stood in the back and didnt do anything. the boys got mad at us. lol

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Thats dumb!

message 9: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments yeah. but u can go ice blocking. i dont even know what that is. but they say its more dangerous than sledding.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I asked my friend, and she says that its amazing and quite dangerous.

message 11: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Iceblocking is where you slide down a hill...on a big block of ice. Yep. You can do it any time, even in the summer, as long as you have ice. I've never done it, but it sounds scary.

Have you ever tried sliding down a hill on a pizza box? my brothers and cousins did it, and they wore a hole through the cardboard.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome! THe pizza box one. I WANT TO DO IT! Did they do it on snow, or just a regular box?

message 13: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments We were on a picnic in the mountains, so it was just a kind of dirt slope. But you could prolly do it on snow.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Neat-o!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, another fun/useful YW idea is to have a "secret grandma night". We are doing it and its so much fun! Each YW chooses an older sister from their ward and invites her to the secret grandma dinner. :D I hadnt heard of it until now... Its very creative.

message 16: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Ooh--one that's always fun is Etiquette night. A fancy dinner is prepared/catered (when I did it, the Activity Days girls cooked it, I think...) and then you have to follow proper manners all thru dinner (YM escort YW, table manners, etc.) We even invited the missionaries.

message 17: by Mallory (new)

Mallory (malloryrose17) Lolz, we had a 'date' night combined, where we sat boy-girl-boy-girl, and then they served us dinner, and we had to pretend we were on a group date. It was really fun, and not awkward xP. Well, I was late, so I missed the lectures... but... it was fun xP

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

That would be sooooooooooo much fun! I think we will do an Etiquete night this year. IM SO HAPPY! On Wednesday, we are going to the Draper Temple open house! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 19: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Whoa--I'm going to the Draper Temple open house THAT SAME NIGHT!!! Think we'll see each other there? (even if we did, we wouldn't know it...)

message 20: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments haha lol.
for YW last thursday we played sardines in our old stake buliding. it is 2 floors. it was way fun. but that might not be so appropriate for the church.

message 21: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Wow. Sardines sounds like SO MUCH FUN!!! We played that before we moved in to our house. There was no furniture or anything, and we could hide in closets and bathtubs and furnace rooms and everything!!! BUt you're right, it wouldn't be that appropriate in an actual church building.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha. that sounds really fun, maybe not appropraite in a church building, but that sounds soooo fun!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! Sardines is like the best game ever! And how funny would it be if we did see eachother.... ha ha ha! Yeah, we would have no idea!

message 24: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Actually it turns out I'm not going. :( :( :( *sob!* I have to go to my high school orientation instead. I'm going to Bingham. Oh joy. I REALLY need the extra stress of deciding exactly what classes I'm going to take my whole life RIGHT NOW. Instead of going to the temple. I'll go with my family later, though.....

message 25: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments Bingham? no way. that's cool. i would go to Lehi when i am in high school but i want to go to Timpanogos, because my dad teaches there and coaches, but I still have 2 1/2 years to decide.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Im going to Payson. BUt thats a tiny town that you probably havent heard of. :D Yeah for tiny towns!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 27: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa | 9 comments Actually I have heard of it--my mom was born there! And I think we may have driven though it once.

♫♪ Olivia ♪♫ | 271 comments ok i have an idea for a yw activity..
today me and my yw were are going to this place called soldier's hollow. it's this huge sledding hill! so you could go sledding for an activity!

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Last night at BYC we were planning activities and we came up with one. THe bigger and better scavenger hunt. Every group gets a penny and you go to the houses in your ward and say "do you have anything bigger or better than this?" So they will give you their junk (like refrigerator boxes and stuff). THen you see who got the biggest or best (most unique). AND THEY WIN!

message 41: by Kami ♥ (new)

Kami ♥ C. | 164 comments Ohhh I love that game! I played it for my friends birthday party. it was so fun! and my group won! the biggest thing we got was a 5$ well before that we got a big package of Oreos then we traded it for a $5! It was so fun!
