Lily's claws unsheathed and she grinned, her canines glinting off light. "Bring it on." Her eyes began to tint red.

"With pleasure," Noir brought out her wand, the shadows of the room seeming to crowd around her. Her hair moved in an invisible breeze as she muttered a charm. Suddenly a gallon of water dumped onto the catgirl's head and froze, Lily's hair frosty with horefrost.

Lily reached up and punched the ice, shattering it into a million pieces. She shook her head out and was about to lunge at Noir when a young boy with raven black hair and dark, depressed eyes walked in. Lily blinked.
"Hi Nick." She said. "Have you met Noir?"
Darkness seemed to surround the boy as he slide his gaze to Noir. "Pleased to meet you." His voice was flat and devoid of emotion.

Noir stopped, and looked over at the boy.
"Pleasure's mine." She met his gaze and nodded, watching him with veiled curiosity.

Nick inclined his head slightly. He watched her, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Interesting..." He murmured.

Noir narrowed her eyes, the shadows around her feet still playing for her mood. "What?" She asked, seeing him watching her.

Lily rolled her eyes. "Stop molesting her with your freaky nightmare powers, dude. It's creepy."
Nick broke eye contact and smiled at Lily. "Her greatest fear is surprising." He says, glancing at Noir again.

"Really?" Noir said, heart jumping a little. "Well I guess there goes the need to keep a lock on my diary." She hissed, crossing her arms haughtily.

Nick chuckled softly.
Lily sighed. "Just don't let him touch you." She glared at the boy. "I learned that the hard way."

Noir groaned. "Great. I know I'm going to regret this, but why shouldn't he touch me? What's going to happen?"

Nick smiled in a creepy, sadistic way. "I'll show you."
"NO, NICK!" Lily exclaimed, but he had already moved forward and took Noir's hand in his icy cold one.
Noir was suddenly surrounded by darkness. She was surrounded by her own worst nightmares, in a world of fear and horror.

Noir's heart jumped into her throat, a scream stiffled on her lips. She saw a boy she used to know, and she squeezed her eyes shut as his brutal death happened again before her eyes. A knife to his throat, slid across with expert hands and blood spilling down his neck. Thoughts and feelings she experienced before flew through her mind, you said you would let him be! I gave you what you wanted. A voice echoes a reply, cold and hard. We do what we want. Don't let people get close to your heart, kid. This is what happens. Tears pricked behind her eyes.

A garbled voice broke through. It was Lily's; screaming at Nick to stop. Nick's hand released Noir's and he stepped away, his eyes darker than before.
"Sorry." He mumbled, looking at the ground.

Noir stood trembling, the sick feeling of death making her feel nausiated. She finally opened her eyes, their color flashing iridescent with rage. She muffled her anger, instead speaking with a slick voice laced with venom. "Satisfied, Nick?" She whispered.

"You're the one who asked." Nick replied flatly, staring at her.
Lily crept out of the room quietly, not wanting to be there when Noir exploded.

Fury built up inside of her, threatening to explode.
"You just made the biggest mistake of your life, creep." She hissed, bringing out her wand. Shadows swirled around her like a dark blizzard, giving her strength. She glared at Nick as she twisted her wand through the air and muttered a curse. Opening her arms wide, a jet of dark grey smoke and tendrils of a slick black composure lashed out and wrapped themselves around the boy securely. She sent her gaze storming towards him. "Never touch me again," She spat at his feet.

Noir sneered at Nick, suddenly amused amid her anger. "Dam* right." She said, retracting her magic; the smoke and arms sucking themselves into the next dimension. "Seems to be your kind of thing too," She took in his darkapppearance

Nick nodded. "Dark. Dreary. Depressing. The three D's that make up my life." He said, still in a monotone voice. "Oh, and death. I guess that's four."

"Wonderful," Noir cocked her head, listening to Nick talk as her anger ebbed slowly. "Keep your distance and we might just get along." She said, her voice silvertongued.

Nick smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Of course." He bowed to her, like someone from the 1800's. "Noir. It was a pleasure to meet you." With that, he exited the room. His feet didn't make a sound on the floor.
