Try to think one of 2 things here:
1. Something that doesn't exist and solves a general issue
2. Something that already exists but it's meh and you can do it better (more efficient/faster etc)
Personally for a project at university, I recommended to create a better app for the public transportation here in Greece (I live in Athens) We have an app but it sucks and my plan was for the ticket to be obviously on your phone like a boarding pass on your plane tickets, it would be a QR code that says how much time you have left on your ticket or it had store so you can buy more tickets etc. Scan the QR to enter to the station instead of a physical ticket (that you always lose or you throw away after, later when I traveled to Warsaw - for the eras tour - I realized that other countries have this already and Greek people are dumb but this is another story) The concept was I found something that is not that good in the market right now, make it better, add something that (maybe) doesn't exists (at least in Greece). Hope this helps.
