I forgot to add Jack McDevitt. His book "Seeker" is a good one.

Chris | 3 comments FC, have you read any Ian McDonald? I first read his Terminal Cafe, and what a great post-human piece. This was a few years, ago, but at the time it a one of my all time favorites. I am currently reading his newest, Brasyl. Great pace, great characters, but due to my lack of Spanish familiarity, I think may be missing some of the cultural subtleties. But I'm not about to let that stop me! Muwahahahaha

Ubik | 3 comments Terminal Cafe is high on my to-read list. Of course I have a bajillion books on my to-read list so who knows how long it will take, but I'll try and remember to post back here when Ive read it.

Has anyone read any Arthur Herzog? Ive only read IQ 83 and Imortalon, both dealing with gene-altering type stuff. I will say that IQ 83 was much better than Imortalon (the latter got really campy and unbelievable towards the end). IQ 83 is worth a read though although Im getting the feeling that he just doesnt know how to end a novel properly. Im interested in checking outL*S*I*T*T, The Village Buyers, and The Town That Moved To Mexico, but not sure since his stuff is kinda mediocre to me...

Mark | 1 comments Hi all,

I'm new to this group, and was somewhat surprised not to see any mention of Greg Egan..highly recommended - permutation city would be a great place to start if interested.
