Because I read 25 books I consider my book challenge successful. Although I did not finish books 24 and 25 in 2009, I began reading them in 2009 and I blame the holidays as the reason why I didn't finish them until 2010. The only part of my goal that I did not complete was making 05/25 the books classics. I only read two classics the whole year so I resolve in 2010 to read more classic novels and thus begins a whole new book challenge!

Andrew | 6 comments That's some list. I'd be interested to see what you put on your classics list, but I would reduce it to ten:
1. Brother's Karamazov.
2. Crime and Punishment.
3. Gravity's Rainbow
4. An American Tragedy
5. Sometimes a Great Notion
6. Jane Eyre
7. The Recognitions (option instead: JR).
8. Bleak House
9. David Copperfield
10. Uncle Silas

If you can get through half of that in a year I will be in awe.

Andrew | 6 comments Just stay away from Henry James, "The Ambassadors," the worst novel even written, and you'll be happy.
