Smashpanda I got far enough into this book to read all about Pearl Harbor and how that went down, then got really lost in all of the logistics. I've put it down for now, but plan on returning later.

Debbie I read it this year. It was well worth the effort. What I found was the most amazing revelation was how much fighting there was among the different groups in Japan. I always had the impression they moved forward as though one. It was also interesting to find out how often the Japanese military commanders lied about their successes -- claiming victory where there was defeat, particularly the navy. By their accounts, the Yorktown was sunk irretrievably 4 times. Without accurate information, it was impossible for the leaders to make decent decisions about strategies.
