Bring on the Beast Lord! ;)

If there are enough people who have read the series, then maybe we could do the new release as a mini group read.. or maybe we could even start with the first book as a mini group read as well.
By mid Feb I will create a poll to ask what people want.

It started out as a joke with my boyfriend. Whenever we go to the mall to shop, he always calls me a mall sherpa because I know where everything is. So he said that I should label myself the group sherpa and keep everything organized here in the group.
the definition of a sherpa is: an expert chosen by a chief executive to assist in preparations for a summit meeting.

so you're suggesting to keep the mini group reads following the Patricia Briggs series and the Lilith Saintcrow.. and just having discussion threads on new release books (but not a group read)?
Did I get that right?
Ilona Andrews is an excellent new author, looking forward to #3.

That's right. That way those who have read farther in a series and want to discuss them can especially since there are a lot of new books coming out in Feb

Ilona Andrews is accepting applications for a new Beta Reader. This is someone that will read parts of her upcoming novels and give her feedback. I'm not picky enough in my critiquing of other people's writting (in other words I love almost everything I read) so I don't think I'm a good fit - but I'm sure some of you Kate Daniels fans would be awesome! Here's a link to her blog:

OMG Have you read Lilith? I haven't found anyone that could get through them but me. I actuallt enjoyed them.
The Devil series.

I guess that I need to make a trip to the library to find the actual book. Can't listen to it!!!

But, if you can get your hands on the actual book rather than the audiobook, do it! My library doesn't have the book so I had to settle on the audio even though I hate the reader!

They've created a really interesting world, and I like their alternative take on vampires, the idea of magic being "up" and "down" and its affect on the world. They also move away from the standard bad guy and bring in fascinating new creatures. And they've created really strong characters in Kate and Curran with a wonderful dynamic, and brilliant supporting characters like Jim and Derek. Just all around brilliant! ;)

Curran might just be the hottest character around!! I love the plot of the books, and I can't wait for the next one to come out. I just hope more happens with Curran and Kate :(

I find I like the more unusual universes. I love the magic going on an off and what that does to people's lives. I also love the fact that life goes on anyway.

Referring to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward... c'mon you have to have heard about the Brothers!?

;)

Definitely! I think it will be great. And the audiobook for Magic Strikes just came out a couple of weeks ago, so I'll listen to that ahead of time, and remind myself of Raphael's wooing techniques. LOL

What do you all think?

I'm interested to see where she will take the next book in her edge series.
